With Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos recently expressing his regret over the fact that they couldn't make a third season of Mindhunter — executive producer David Fincher cited budgetary reasons while Sarandos blamed Fincher's tight schedule — fans of investigative thrillers have been looking for alternatives. A handful of titles stand out: Black Bird, starring Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser, received excellent reviews on Apple TV, while Des, starring David Tennant, offered a decidedly British take on the genre. Now, a new series is taking on the mantle with terrific reviews and early viewership success.
