Lewis Capaldi's concerts have unwittingly become a proposal hotspot in recent years – and the singer's now taken to roasting Aussie couples who have jumped on the trend.
A man at one of Capaldi's Sydney concert was the latest to steal the spotlight, popping the question mid-show and prompting a hilarious response from the Someone You Loved balladeer.

The trend emerged after Capaldi, known for his vast repertoire of love songs, invited two fans on stage for their special moment in 2023.
Since then, there have been a slew of proposals at Capaldi's concerts, including at least two during the Australian stretch of his most recent tour.
Two concertgoers became engaged during his performance of Love The Hell Out Of You, prompting the Scottish star to heckle them for "taking the shine off me."
"That's enough, put the cameras back on me," Capaldi joked as the audience laughed.
"How dare you come here and propose! This is my show."

The singer then quipped that the proposal may have been ill-timed, having occurred in an arena filled with potentially heartbroken fans.
"There's a lot of single, sad people at my shows as well, so you just f--king showed them what true love is and now almost 20,000 people hate you," he teased.
Capaldi then offered his sincere congratulations to the couple, joking he'd "be waiting with bated breath" for his invite to the wedding.
"It's f--kin' great stuff, well done you guys," he told the loved-up pair.

The Before You Go chart-topper is known far and wide for his comedic timing and self-deprecating humour, appearing in stark contrast to his mournful ballads.
This is the singer's first Australian stint in five years, following the cancellation of his planned 2023 tour.
Capaldi cited his worsening mental health and a flare-up of Tourette's as the cause behind the cancellation.
He also previously cancelled his Glastonbury show that same year, but made a triumphant return to the British music festival in 2025.
Capaldi's tour is set to continue in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth this week.
