The anime’s official website and accounts announced the 11 p.m. JST broadcast slot in Japan. The anime’s second season premieres January 16, 2026, on Nippon TV, with worldwide streaming through Crunchyroll beginning the same day. They also released a new key visual that shows Frieren, Fern, and Stark embarking on the next stage of their journey.

Studio Madhouse remains in charge of production, with the core voice cast reprising their roles to ensure continuity in performance and storytelling. The second season marks a direct continuation of the acclaimed fantasy series, adapting Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe’s award-winning manga. Tomoya Kitagawa will serve as director for Season 2, succeeding Keiichiro Saito, who directed the first season.

Crunchyroll has confirmed it will simulcast the anime outside of Asia, including in India. The streaming platform will offer the episodes in multiple subtitles and dubs to reach a global audience. The series continues to follow Frieren, an elven mage, as she confronts humanity’s fleeting nature while fulfilling promises to her departed companions.

The story begins after the defeat of the Demon King, when Frieren and her party restored peace before parting ways. As centuries pass, Frieren faces the consequences of her immortality, grappling with the short lives of her companions and her new apprentice, Fern. Season 2 will continue exploring these themes as the trio presses on toward new lands and challenges.
