After the success of The Undoing and Big Little Lies, HBO appears to be hedging its bets on a new mystery thriller series that aims for broader appeal. The new series premiered on October 1, and instantly found spots on the domestic and global HBO Max viewership charts. The new series has shades of HBO's Succession and is designed as an anthology that follows a heated rivalry between two competing law firms. Succession's impact can be felt far and wide; the dark comedy-drama ended its acclaimed run in 2023 and has influenced everything from MobLand to The Gentlemen. The new HBO series will air all the way through October and conclude its eight-episode premiere season on November 19.
