Heated Rivalry, a romance TV show set in the world of hockey, has been renewed for Season 2 at Crave and HBO Max. The renewal news comes during the show’s Season 1 run, with four of the six episodes having already aired. Heat Rivalry is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 95%.
Heated Rivalry stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie announced the news in a brief video posted to HBO Max’s X account. Williams teased that the new season will be “hotter, wetter, and longer.”
What do we know about HBO Max’s Heated Rivalry Season 2?
Williams and Storrie will reprise their roles as rival hockey players Shane Hollander and Ilya Grigoryevich Rozanov, who embark on a secret relationship off the ice.
“They are two of the biggest stars in Major League Hockey, tied together by their ambition, rivalry, and a magnetic pull neither of them understands,” the official synopsis reads. “They begin a secret fling as rookies that morphs into a long journey of love, denial, and self-discovery over the next eight years. They’re forced to decide if there is room for love in their fiercely competitive world.”
Heated Rivalry also stars François Arnaud as Scott Hunter, Robbie G.K. as Christopher “Kip” Grady, Christina Chang as Yuna Hollander, Dylan Walsh as David Hollander, Sophie Nélisse as Rose Landry, and Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova as Svetlana Vetrova.
Jacob Tierney is the creator, writer, director, and executive producer of Heated Rivalry. Tierney also created the hockey sitcom Letterkenny.
Heated Rivalry is based on the Game Changers book series by author Rachel Reid. During the video announcement, Storrie mentioned that Season 2 will adapt The Long Game, the final novel in Reid’s series.
Heated Rivalry is created for Crave, a Canadian streaming service. HBO Max distributed the show in the U.S. and Australia.
