On July 10, 2026, the long-awaited live-action Moana remake will set sail across the world and into theaters. Recently, the release of the official trailer gave fans their first glimpse at Dwayne Johnson's physical embodiment of Maui, following his voice work in the animated version. As well as this, the trailer also introduced fans fully to Catherine Laga'aia as the titular daughter of Motunui's chief, with the stunning visual landscape crafted evident from just a short trailer. At a time when reboots, remakes, and live-action adaptations are so popular, Moana looks like one of the best.
