Gregg Wallace announced he’s going to be a grandfather with a social media post accidentally revealing his family’s private medical details.
The disgraced MasterChef star, 61, initially shared a snap of the ultrasound showing his grandchild on Tuesday morning that featured the border, which includes personal information such as the name of the patient, date of birth and identifying medical ID numbers.
His followers were quick to point out his error and encouraged him to take down the post before it posed any risk to his family, as seen by Metro.
Although initially confused as to what the issue was, he quickly understood the warnings and took down the post.
He has now reshared a close-up image of the ultrasound, which only shows the foetus in utero and no potentially revealing details.
He has captioned it: ‘Grandad. This is my granddaughter. I’m going to be a grandfather,’ although he didn’t share which of his two older children is going to be a parent: his 32-year-old son Tom or 29-year-old daughter, Libby.

He also has a son, Sid, seven, whom he shares with his wife Anna, 37.
Congratulations have flooded in for him in the comments.

The media personality has not been on mainstream TV in a couple of years since he was removed as co-host of the BBC’s hit cooking show, MasterChef, following a string of allegations accusing him of inappropriate behaviour.
When the allegations first surfaced, Wallace faced further backlash for blaming ‘middle-class women of a certain age’, which he recently shared his regret about saying.
‘It was a stupid, defensive, and arrogant thing to say. I felt like I was being backed into a corner, and I lashed out. There’s no excuse for it. It was hurtful and wrong. It’s not what I truly believe, and I’m sorry for what I said,’ he shared on Substack in January of this year.
Further in the same post, he claimed his innuendo-filled comments were often ‘encouraged’ while working on the show as part of a wider culture.
The broadcaster ultimately dismissed Wallace in the summer of 2025 after a review upheld 45 out of 83 complaints, with allegations against his co-star John Torode also leading to his exit.
Wallace attempted to sue the BBC for up to £10,000 in damages, alleging they failed to disclose his personal data, claiming this caused ‘distress and harassment’. He dropped the case just before the hearing.
Since his dismissal, Wallace has been promoting his account on Cameo, where fans can pay for personalised videos from the star. In April, he also launched a 12-hour TikToklive cooking show.
At the time, he promised ‘some amazing dishes, we are going to have some incredible guests, lots of cookery, lots of live chat and more importantly, lots of very good offers for you to buy on TikTok shop.’
Its launch, however, was not met with much success.
MasterChef, meanwhile, has returned to screens with new presenters, Grace Dent and Anna Haugh.
