Gorgeous 2025 GOTY Contender Gets PS5 Release Date

A 2025 Game of the Year contender is officially making its way to the PlayStation 5, with a release date now confirmed.

Hades II, Supergiant Games’ follow-up to the critically acclaimed 2020 game Hades, is set to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on April 14, 2026.

The game, much like the first Hades, is a roguelike action role-playing game. The game follows the story of Melinoë, the Princess of the Underworld and sister to Zagreus, the main character in the first game. Melinoë is out to defeat Chronos, the Titan of Time, and enlists the help of other Olympian Gods in the process.

Similar to the first game, Hades II sees players going through various dungeons and defeating enemies along the way. After clearing a room, players can then choose from different upgrades to get along the way, which disappear when you end a run.

Unlike the first game, Hades II features a much more branching path of places to visit. The game sports the ability to travel to the surface world and visit places like Mount Olympus and more.

Originally released in 2025, Hades II received critical acclaim, and was nominated for six awards at The Game Awards 2025, winning Best Action Game.
