Gerard Butler's Long-Awaited Sci-Fi Sequel Becomes an Overnight Smash on Streaming

Even though Gerard Butler starred in his highest-grossing live-action movie — the How to Train Your Dragon remake — only last year, he's been having a rather mediocre run at the box office of late. His most successful movie since 2020, aside from How to Train Your Dragon, remains the action-thriller Plane, which grossed roughly $75 million worldwide. Three other films — Kandahar, Last Seen Alive, and Copshop — failed to crack the $10 million mark. The biggest blow came earlier this year, when Butler's $90 million sci-fi sequel Greenland 2: Migration grossed just $45 million worldwide.
