General Hospital’s Daniel Goddard Teases What’s in Store for Dalton

Daniel Goddard, who recently stepped into the role of Henry Dalton, opened up about the character’s potential to become villainous on General Hospital. Introduced in April 2025, he is a famous physicist professor who comes to Port Charles University to teach Environmental Physics. As the audience gets some insights into him through other characters, curiosity has built up about his potential antagonistic arc. So, here are the details.

Daniel Goddard says General Hospital will explore Dalton’s past

In a recent interview, Daniel Goddard discussed his new character on General Hospital.

Speaking with Woman’s World, he opened up about the possibility of his character taking a villainous turn and expressed interest in exploring his past.

He said, “I think having a character that can be villainous is great… as long as he’s not evil. Victor Newman and Sonny Corinthos are great villains, because they’ll do horrific things to people, but at their cores, family comes first. You know who they are and why they are the way they are, and that’s the anchor we can cling to in the turbulent seas of betrayal and all the different things that can happen, storyline-wise.”

Although he likes the idea of his character going down a darker path, he also wants to shed more light on his backstory. Additionally, he wants to dig deeper into the motivations that influence him to become a villain. “So I like the villainous idea, and I also like the idea that we’re going to start to discover more about Dalton, his past, and how he ended up who he is.”

Expressing his gratitude for being a part of GH, he further said, “I think I’ve played every soap opera trope there is, at this point, so I’m just enjoying the ride and being at General Hospital.” In the upcoming episodes, it would be interesting to see what twists and turns Henry Dalton’s story will take.
