General Hospital Casts Former Y&R Star as Serena Baldwin

General Hospital will be witnessing a new cast member in the form of Kelly Kruger. She plays the role of Scott Baldwin and the late Dominique Stanton’s daughter, Serena Baldwin.

Kelly Kruger joins General Hospital as Serena Baldwin

In his interview with TV Insider, Kelly Kruger opened up about joining General Hospital. “I am so excited to be joining the show!” the Canadian actress stated. She continued, “It’s a literal dream come true to finally get to work with Frank Valentini [executive producer] and Mark Teschner [casting director] after all these years!” Kruger added, “Daytime has a very special place in my heart, and I have always wanted to work with the actors and writers on this show.”

The 43-year-old believes “the level of talent and work they put out is the absolute best.” Besides The Young and the Restless, Kruger is known for her stint on The Bold and the Beautiful. Her other works include A Very Corgi Christmas, Entourage, and Criminal Minds. Kruger started shooting for GH on June 8 and will appear on screens next month. She has been eagerly looking forward to her role. “I’m honored and excited to be stepping into this role,” Kruger said.

She continued, “I cannot wait for the fans to meet Serena!” Frank Valentini, executive producer of the soap opera, also expressed excitement for Kruger’s entry. “I am excited to have Kelly Kruger join the cast of General Hospital. She’s a terrific actor and we look forward to working with her,” he stated.

For the unversed, Serena was first played by Carly Schroeder. Schroeder last appeared as Serena in 2017 to mourn her grandfather, Lee Baldwin. Despite her exit, Scott mentioned in 2022 that Serena was arrested in the Faroe Islands after an argument with dolphin hunters. As such, he decided to travel to the islands. It will be interesting to see what new twists Serena’s re-entry will bring.
