It’s been a good week for those with a sweet tooth. We saw Tony’s Chocolonely launch its brand new Milk Popcorn Crunch flavour, while M&S revived not one, but four, retro chocolate bars.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there, because Galaxy has just launched two new chocolate bar flavours.
Galaxy Millionaire Crumble and Galaxy Cinnamon Swirl are now available in Iceland and The Food Warehouse. It also appears to be available in select Spar stores in Scotland.
Fans are already rushing to try the 160g bars, which both feature flavoured biscuit chunks in the centre, alongside the smooth and creamy signature chocolate recipe. TikToker Nayn (@real.nayn) tried the cinnamon swirl flavour. ‘I’m officially obsessed,’ he said.
‘As soon as I heard cinnamon, I flew to Iceland… Lord have mercy… this is banging.’
Others were equally as keen to get their hands on them. ‘These need to get in my belly,’ wrote one fan on Facebook.
‘We love anything cinnamon, so can’t wait to see what it tastes like,’ added another, while someone else commented: ‘That millionaire one looks amazing!’
While the bars aren’t listed as part of the official Galaxy collection on the Mars website but multiple fans have posted pictures and videos of the new additions to the lineup.
The bars are being sold in Spar for £3.39, making it the perfect treat night snack.
Since its launch in 1960, the chocolate brand has grown to have an iconic range, including Minstrels, Galaxy Ripple, and flavours like Galaxy Cookie Crumble and Smooth Caramel.
But the brand has brought out plenty of innovations over the years. In 2021, Galaxy Smooth Orange hit the shelves, and the year prior the chocolate maker launched a limited edition Chocolate Cookie Crumble spread.
It’s not clear if the millionaire crumble and cinnamon swirl flavours are a permanent fixture in the Galaxy collection, and there’s always a chance our beloved new flavours can be discontinued.
Galaxy’s Truffle Celebrations have been sorely missed since being removed from the famous sharing box back in 2011, although the mini Twix that replaced them seems to have also been a hit.
In more news, fans have found sharing packs of discontinued Opal Fruits on sale once again at Poundland, Home Bargains and B&M, priced at £1, 99p and 95p respectively.
The last time Opal Fruits — which debuted in 1960 — returned, Florence McGivern, Skittles’ senior brand manager, commented: ‘The nostalgia trend continues to resonate strongly with consumers, and we are giving them the chance to reconnect with memories from that time.’
The sweets have been known as Starburst since 1998, but it seems a hit of nostalgia was in order.
