Gabby Thomas can’t help herself, she’s chasing history like it owes her something. And honestly? She’s getting closer with every stride. Fresh off her dazzling performance in Kingston, where she dominated the track at the National Stadium and won the Long sprint championship. Well, Thomas now have legendary record in her sight. Amidst that she also took time to praise her fellow USATF Star.

The sprint sensation recently clocked an impressive 11.02s (1.0) in the women’s 100m at the Texas Invitational, narrowly missing the sub-11 barrier but leaving competitors Cambrea Sturgis (11.15s) and Semira Killebrew (11.29s) in her wake. Her season’s portfolio is stacking up nicely: 100m – 11.02, 200m – 22.62, and 400m – 49.14.

Honestly, if Thomas maintains this trajectory, she’ll join Allyson Felix (2008) and Gwen Torrence (1993) as the only women to go sub-11, sub-22, and sub-50 in a single season. Felix’s 2008 marks were nothing short of phenomenal: 21.93 in the 200m, 49.83 in the 400m, and 10.93 in the 100m.

Despite her own pursuit of greatness, Thomas still celebrates her teammates. She recently took to Instagram to shout out fellow USATF star Tia Jones. In her story, Thomas shared a competition results screen showing Jones’ world-leading time of 12.49 in the hurdles against a -0.5 m/s headwind, captioning it: “World lead into a headwind that’s my teammate @tia.ajones ” while playing Ari Lennox’s “Soft Girl Era” in the background.

Jones topped the competition, besting Christina Clemons (12.73), Alaysha Johnson (12.78), Naomi Krebs (13.07), and Akala Garrett (13.25), breaking Grace Stark’s previous record of 12.51 from April 2025.

The story is developing!!
