Multiple US banks are set to close a total of three dozen branches all within a three week period.
Eight banks including giants US Bank, Wells Fargo and Santander informed the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) of their planned branch closures from April 26 to May 15.
Before shuttering a location, banks must notify the OCC, a federal agency which ensures that national banks operate in a manner that is safe and sound.
Santander had the highest number of branches marked for closure, at 28. Community Bank reported five branches to close, while US Bank reported four and Wells Fargo three.

These intended closures come after major banks shuttered more than 1,000 branches last year.
