What does the future of Doctor Who look like? For a series all about regeneration, the possibilities seem endless. Russell T. Davies' return after a frustrating era under Chris Chibnall brought plenty of optimism, as Davies had alreadyrevived the series once before. A few years on, and it perhaps couldn't have gone much worse, with the latest iteration of the titular Time Lord leaving under a cloud of confusion, the Disney partnership crashing and burning, and the show eventually being put out to competitive tender by the BBC during turbulent times for British television.
