Damon opened the year starring in one of the most popular films of the year on Netflix, The Rip, which even saw him reunite with his long-time collaborator and friend, Ben Affleck. Damon then stepped into the shoes of one of the most important figures in storytelling history, Odysseus, in Christopher Nolan’s latest blockbuster epic, The Odyssey. Nolan’s latest hit has already grossed $1.3 billion at the global box office, making it the highest-grossing movie of his career, even surpassing The Dark Knight Rises and Oppenheimer. Damon is expected to earn another Oscar nod for his performance in the film, and some experts have him as the favorite to take home the award.
