Final Season of Jon Bernthal’s Chaotic Series Is Ruling Over Streaming

The final season of an intense culinary show has quickly become Hulu’s most-watched title in the US. The acclaimed kitchen drama is ending on a high after winning over critics and audiences again. Season 5 also marks another appearance from Jon Bernthal, whose recurring role continues to impress fans despite limited screen time.

The Bear Season 5 pushes the show on top of Hulu’s streaming charts

According to Flix Patrol, The Bear Season 5 has climbed to No. 1 on Hulu’s U.S. Top 10 chart. It currently sits ahead of CMA Fest, Good Luck Have Fun Don’t Die, Love Island UK, Americana, and several other titles. The strong debut shows that interest in the FX series remains high as fans return for its farewell chapter.

Created by Christopher Storer, The Bear follows talented chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto as he leaves the fine-dining world to run his late brother’s struggling Chicago sandwich shop. Over the seasons, the restaurant transforms into a fine-dining destination while its staff battles pressure, grief, ambition, and family trauma. The series stars Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliott, Matty Matheson, and Jon Bernthal as Carmy’s late brother, Mikey.

Fans have continued to love the show for its authentic kitchen atmosphere, emotional characters, and standout performances. Across its run, the series has maintained exceptional review scores. Season 1 holds a 100% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, Season 2 sits at 99%, Season 3 earned 89%, while Season 4 has a critics rating of 84%.  The show also carries an IMDb rating of around 8.5/10.

Jon Bernthal remains one of the show’s biggest highlights despite appearing only in select episodes. The Emmy-winning actor is widely known for playing Shane Walsh in The Walking Dead, Frank Castle in The Punisher, and memorable roles in The Wolf of Wall Street, Ford v Ferrari, King Richard, and The Accountant. His emotionally charged performance as Mikey during the dinner scene still impresses fans.
