Final Fantasy 9 remains one of the most popular JRPGs ever made, and is up there in the eyes of Final Fantasy fans as one of the series' very best games. 2025 actually marked the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy 9, although the occasion wasn't really marked with much more than an underwhelming blog post from Square Enix.
