The Spider-Man world is having a big week. Just one day after the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day sent fans into full theory mode, there is finally a real answer to one of the franchise’s oldest unanswered questions: what happened to the Sinister Six movie? And according to Drew Goddard, the answer is a lot less creative than fans might have hoped. It was not some grand change of heart. It was chaos at Sony. Speaking to Variety while promoting Project Hail Mary, Goddard looked back on the cancelled spin-off and said:
