It was supposed to be just another action beat for the climax of Gunmaaster G9. Instead, it turned into a truly frightening moment on set. Emraan Hashmi had a narrow escape on October 13 while filming a high-risk stunt sequence for the spy thriller in Bengaluru, when a car flip went badly wrong.

The vehicle, an SUV rigged to stay suspended mid-air as part of the stunt, reportedly came loose from its mechanism without warning. It crashed down onto a parked van below, landing just a foot away from Hashmi’s face. A behind-the-scenes video capturing the moment has since surfaced online, showing crew members gathered around the location moments before the SUV flipped and came crashing down.
The malfunction understandably rattled everyone present, given how close the actor came to serious injury. Thankfully, Hashmi walked away from the incident completely unharmed, and the shoot, after a brief disruption, continued. The makers of the film are yet to issue an official statement clarifying whether the fall was a planned part of the stunt sequence or a genuine technical mishap.
This isn’t the first time the film’s production has made headlines for an on-set incident. The shoot had earlier run into trouble in Haridwar as well, adding to what’s already been an eventful production schedule for the action-heavy project.
Bengaluru has become something of a key shooting base for the Gunmaaster G9 team over the past few weeks, with several elaborate action sequences being mounted across multiple locations in the city. Stunt coordinators typically run extensive safety checks before rigging a vehicle for a mid-air sequence like this one, which makes the sudden mechanical failure all the more alarming for everyone involved.

Billed as a spy thriller, Gunmaaster G9 sees Hashmi playing the dual role of Eshwar and Agent G9, marking yet another ambitious action outing for the actor, who has steadily built a reputation in recent years for taking on more physically demanding roles beyond his earlier image.
For now, the focus remains on wrapping the climax safely, with the cast and crew presumably taking extra precautions after Monday’s scare.
