Emmy Winner’s Interactive Murder Mystery Show Whispers Gets Trailer | Exclusive

Whispers is a new interactive murder mystery show built on the Pickford AI platform that comes from Emmy winner Bernie Su (The Lizzie Bennet Diaries). The series will officially launch later this year.

What happens in the Whispers trailer?

The synopsis for Whispers reads, “Whispers is an interactive mystery series that invites audiences to step inside the story. A shocking crime has been committed, the evidence is circumstantial, and the killer will escape justice without a confession. Enter the detectives who hear the ‘whispers’ of the audience, influencing the investigation in real time. Using AI-powered characters and real-time branching storytelling, viewers must interrogate, investigate, and draw out the confession from the killer. Every investigation unfolds differently, shaped by the whispers of the audience.”

The voice cast includes Stephen Chang (The Last of Us, Bosch Legacy), Tohoru Masamune (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Never Have I Ever), Brandon Soohoo (Tropic Thunder, NCIS: Los Angeles), Heavenly Reyna (The Bold and the Beautiful), and Jennifer Field (General Hospital, Station 19).

Su recently said about Whispers, via Variety, “The storyteller to me is that what you’re about to see, this experience, is a story experience that cannot be done without AI. It’s a new art form that, at its speed and at its fidelity, cannot be done without AI and the technology that Pickford pioneered, and put in this experience.”

Su also emphasized the importance of working within SAG’s framework for AI projects when working on Whispers. “We are using a voice with their approval,” he said. “But some actors would pass, not because they were against AI, but they were concerned about the stigma that the audience would have against them.”
