Hands up if you enjoy myths, muses or muscles…

If that’s the case, the golden gods of London’s West End have answered your prayers, as musical sensation Hercules plans to turn things up a few thunderbolts this Halloween.

For one special night, come 31 October, you’re invited to join the cast in the underworld as this show goes an extra mile (see what we did there?).

Here, not only will Hades take over Theatre Royal Drury Lane’s front of house, leaving a trail of music, mayhem and photo opportunities all before curtain-up at 8pm, but a surprise third-act performance – for one night only – will go down in the history books.

This night is shaping up to be all treat, no trick.

Set in Ancient Greece, a time of gods, mortals… and Hercules, who isn’t quite either, the story follows our titular hero, the son of Zeus, who is cast down to Earth. He may be gifted with superhuman strength, but he’s just as unsure of his place in the world as the rest of us, so here our Hercules embarks on a journey to prove himself a true hero and reclaim his spot among the gods on Mount Olympus.

His aim? To return to Mount Olympus, no matter what underworld villain Hades throws at him. Still, it’s one thing to flex those pecs. Going from zero to hero requires a different kind of strength altogether.

What audiences are left with is a wise-cracking, column-shaking, underworld-rocking ride of adventure, self-discovery, and love. In tunics. It’s what classical civilisation would have wanted.

The musical – two hours and 10 minutes of mythical mayhem, inspired by the Disney animated film and based on the ancient myth – has been delighting audiences on the West End since its launch earlier this year.

But it’s the Halloween special that you really need to get your tickets for.

To get into the spirit for its spooktacular, the theatre bar will be taken over by the spirits themselves as special themed cocktails bubble away at this one-off event, while Lorcana – the Disney trading card game – will serve giveaways and special prizes to lucky mortals in the room.

Audiences are also invited to come dressed in their best spooky season looks and garishly great costumes – extra kudos to those who come prepared in Disney Villain-chic (take our quiz below to find which Hercules character you are) – for a night to remember.

We beg you, don’t let your horns block the view of those behind you…

Which Hercules character are you? Take our quiz

Want to know whether you’re more a Hercules or a Meg, perhaps you’re giving total muse energy? What better way to get into the spirit of Hercules before you see the show on the stage, than to take our interactive quiz to discover just which character you are.

The magical pièce de résistance to round off the evening in a uniquely special way, is the surprise third-act performance that only those in the room will get to experience.

We would tell you more, but Hades says we can’t share just yet. And we’re not about to prod the temper of the god of the underworld, are we?

Honestly, Hades has never been hotter.
