Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day just dropped its first box office numbers. And they set the stage for what could be a massive opening weekend. Here’s how the sci-fi epic performed across the globe on day one.

Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi feature Disclosure Day earned around $12 million globally on its first day, Deadline reported, citing sources. The film collected approximately $6 million from domestic previews starting at 2 PM on Wednesday. It also grossed an estimated $6 million from its first wave of overseas markets.

The Emily Blunt, Colman Domingo, and Josh O’Connor starrer targets around $65 million or more worldwide for its opening. Domestically, the Universal Pictures release aims for roughly $35 million. The film holds an 82% Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes from 212 critics’ reviews.

Overseas, the U.K. and Ireland delivered $1.2 million on Wednesday across 650 sites. That result captured a strong 36% market share at No. 1. France followed with $632K from 73K admissions across 680 screens, also claiming the top spot.

Mexico posted $486K on Wednesday at No. 1 with a 29% market share from 1.8K screens. Korea opened to $383K, ranking first with 32% of the total box office. Germany earned $348K across 520 screens, while Italy collected $336K, both securing the No. 1 position.

In Australia, the film’s running total was $594K after limited Wednesday sneaks and a $406K Thursday. Brazil started with $231K on Wednesday at No. 2 behind Scary Movie. China and Spain will open tomorrow, with the film set to play across 73 markets total, according to the outlet.

The David Koepp-penned screenplay carries a reported production budget of $115 million. A Puck report estimated the film needs to cross $300 million globally to break even. Marketing costs sit at approximately $80 million, bringing the total investment to nearly $195 million.
