Denise Richards Gets Candid on New Facelift, Reveals Before & After Photos

Denise Richards, a highly regarded 1990s icon, recently underwent a facelift at 54. The Wild Things actress was very candid about her surgery in a new interview. Richards even shared her before and after the surgery photos, opening up about this unique experience that many do not speak about.

Denise Richards, often considered a sex symbol of the 1990s, decided to get back her youthful shine with a facelift surgery. The actress got candid about the procedure in an interview with Allure.

“I wanted to put things back up, where they were before,” she said about her surgery, “I was terrified.” This is not the first surgery that Richards has had. She had breast implants when she was 19 and has had minor work done since then. But she never altered the iconic face that defined the 1990s.

“Being in the public eye since my 20s, people know what I look like—a facelift is not something that I could hide,” she added about why she decided never to pretend that she had no work done. She opened up about how other celebrities had revealed that they, too, had the work done after she had her facelift.

She explained the work that Ben Talei, her surgeon, did on her face, including minor tweaks that made her look younger. Talei used Ricahrds’ fat from her thigh to accentuate her face. “My face was in his hands,” she said, “I said, ‘You’re the artist. Whatever you want to do.” She praised the doctor in detail.

Denise Richards further explained how her children were not happy with the decision. “My oldest daughters were not happy that I was doing it,” she said. “But I think now they understand, and they see that I still look like me. I think they were just worried, in general, of [me] having surgery.” She explained that she was not trying to change how she looked, but to regain what she had lost.

Richards also shared the pictures of her recovery and opened up about the recovery process. She concluded, saying, “In the future, a little Botox? I would be fine with that. But otherwise, I’m not letting anyone else touch my face, except Dr. Ben. I’m hoping this lasts.”
