Kayla has been taking time off to say good-bye to her longtime friend and one-time brother, John Black, while Sarah has been trying to keep it together after asking her husband, Xander, to leave the family home.
Kate (Lauren Koslow) is speaking with an officer — no doubt wanting to ensure that no one who isn’t approved goes near her son’s room, especially Xander Kiriakis. She knows that he will want to silence the one witness — Philip — who could send him to prison for a long time.
Sarah and Kate see each other at University Hospital. It was Kate asking Sarah not to tell Xander the truth about Philip's deception that started the ball rolling on everything that ultimately happened. Perhaps if they had told Xander right away, none of the tragic fallout — including Xander beating Philip within an inch of his life — would have occurred.
Xander has a pillow in his hands, and it looks like he means business. Is he preparing to finish what he started and end his half brother's life?

Alex and Stephanie join her parents, Kayla and Steve, as well as Uncle Jack and Aunt Jennifer for a toast. During sad times, it's comforting to know that everyone can lean on family for support.
