Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) is playing with fire by trying to take Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) on in Emmerdale.

And it looks like the last thing she’ll do as her revenge plot ends in tragedy.

Making an enemy of Joe is a daft move, but she has the advantage in the fact that he’s in love with her and she’s carrying his baby. But what that really means is his retaliation will come back tenfold.

Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) has been putting pressure on her to go through with the plan to bring Joe down. Dawn has been in cahoots with the Dingles ever since she learned that Joe was behind Moira’s unfair incarceration.

So disgusted was she with his dishonesty, and his heinous act of desecrating Holly’s grave, she’s signed a deal with the opposition. She has vowed to help them bring Joe down, and it’s a very dangerous game.

Dawn’s battled through wobbles and is vowing to plough on, but it may cost her life.

Up Next

She’s already tried to fleece Joe of money, getting him to ‘buy’ Take A Vow from Belle by dumping a load of cash in Dawn’s bank account. What’s next?

Moira, Cain (Jeff Hordley), and Dawn have a plan together, but Cain is struggling to keep his mouth shut. Every time Joe so much as looks in his direction he wants to floor him.

At the Woolpack, Cain is throwing daggers at Joe, and it looks like he might explode, when Moira arrives and puts the kibosh on it. Cain sheepishly behaves himself, but Moira and Dawn can see things could easily go south if they’re not careful.

Cain takes his anger back to the Dingles where he lets the lid off and shows how much he’s struggling to keep down his utter fury. This makes Moira worry for Dawn’s safety and she advises her to grab her kids and get out.

This is not what Dawn expected to happen and suddenly the gravity of the situation hits her – she can’t leave. Moira is shocked at her decision, but Dawn is adamant she needs to do this her way, despite the dangers.

The betrayal is eating away at her, especially when Joe starts rubbing it in about how happy he is to have a family and impending nuptials.

Graham wonders what Joe has done (Picture: ITV)

Dawn is a newbie at this kind of deception, and it shows – she hasn’t picked up on the important fact that Joe knows. That guilt trip is strategic.

Oh boy does he know and is preparing for his own revenge. Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) also knows. The tables have turned.

Graham urges Joe to take action, but Joe assures his pal that all is in hand. His plans are dark.

When Graham next arrives home, he arrives to a horror scene – Dawn unconscious at the bottom of the stairs and Joe standing at the top. This is beyond even what Graham had in mind. What has Joe done?
