The past couple of years have been a roller coaster for Doctor Who fans, one that crashed and burned in timey-wimey fashion. After a disappointing era under showrunner Chris Chibnall, Russell T. Davies returned to his beloved sci-fi product to steer the ship into safer territory. Instead, Davies oversaw the most controversial period perhaps in the show's history, with ratings dropping, a partnership with Disney ending in disgrace, and new titular Time Lord Ncuti Gatwa seeming to quit the series before his scheduled time.
