Known best for his infectious singles, D.O.D has leveled up and delivered his first full-length album, Everything, Briefly.

Hitmaking house producer D.O.D has moved into new territory with his debut album, Everything, Briefly. The British artist is best known for tracks such as “Still Sleepless” and “So Much In Love.” Having solidified himself in dance music as a force to be reckoned with, the beloved producer has taken the next step in his career and released his first full-length album.

Built around connection, the 11-track album is the producer’s first full-length release beyond singles. Released on Armada Music, it puts his evolving sound on full display as he moves into new sonic territory with a mature, polished finish.

‘Everything, Briefly’ is a love letter to those moments. Those unplanned, unexpected, unforgettable moments. The ones that happen in a heartbeat and stay with you forever. Sometimes it’s energy, euphoria, and dancefloor butterflies. Sometimes it’s peace, and calm, and an escape from the world. These are more than just songs. They’re the soundtrack to our lives.

The album opens with the lead single, “Closure,” featuring songstress Hayley May. In this earworm of a release, the vocalist sings about receiving conflicting information as her object of affection shows incongruence. The bright and emotive track has reached nearly 10 million streams on Spotify since its release in May.

An underlying theme of love runs throughout Everything, Briefly. On “Blue Sky,” Nonô sings, “You’re my sunny day when I’m feeling gray” over upbeat, melodic elements. The piano house song shines with distinct synths and percussion as it tells the story of being head over heels in love. Meanwhile, the lyrics of “Want You To Want,” concern desiring more than just a fleeting moment with someone.

D.O.D joins forces with icon Armand Van Helden and singer Sam Harper for a standout on the record, “Twice As Nice.” After warm piano chords, Harper’s vocals join the mix as the track kicks into high gear. Focusing on rhythm and melody, “Twice As Nice” feels like an effortless blend of the two artists’ sounds. The infectious, dance-forward tune is sure to be a staple in D.O.D’s catalog.

While much of the album was released as singles, the closing track, “Be Free,” was a fresh auditory experience. The piano-driven track with soaring vocals beckons listeners to let go of whatever they’re holding onto and open their minds to find inner peace.

The simpler stylings of “Your Everything” provide a palate cleanser midway through the album. With a repetitive vocal hook, the lively tune fits perfectly between two vocal-heavy tracks.

D.O.D’s personal favorite track is “Promise You.” Taking to Instagram to talk about the song, the artist said, “This is just one of those records that gives me a feeling that I can’t explain.” The lyrics feel strikingly genuine as Flynn lists out his promises to whomever he treasures. It’s the only song to feature a male vocalist throughout the 11-track journey.

Produced in his basement studio in Lancaster, England, Everything, Briefly perfectly captures D.O.D’s growth as an artist. Pairing evocative lyricism with an array of sounds, D.O.D puts his best foot forward with this refined showing of production. With this being his first crack at a longer body of work, I have high hopes for the future of his project.
