In the hospital, a consultant recognises Kit, but he manages to quickly diffuse the situation, pretending to Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) that the consultant recognises him from work.
When Bernie emerges from her appointment, spirits high after having a nurse who reminded her of her late son, Paul, she’s full of spiritual positivity and tells Dev that she wants to book a holiday, convinced that the results will be good.
Kit blows up and scorns his mum for believing in ‘pathetic’ fairytales, before storming away, leading Dev to follow. Can he fix things?
Tuesday Sept 22nd
As Sally tries to get Lucy to choose which soup she wants for lunch, she wanders into the kitchen and discovers a dark painting Lucy’s done, showing a woman deeply distressed and screaming.
Lucy emerges, furious, as Sally tenderly asks if the painting is of her mum. Lucy snatches at the painting, but it tears in the fracas, and Lucy hits a boiling point.
Launching her phone, it hits Sally in the face, just as Tim returns, horrified by her explosion. As Sally holds her pained face, Lucy flees. Is she truly too much for the Metcalfe’s to handle?
Wednesday Sept 23rd
George shows a newly-promoted Christina around the undertaker’s digital filing system, but a particular name catches her eye.
Opening Rachel’s folder, she asks George about Rachel Parkinson, who confirms that she’s Lucy’s mum.
As the blood drains from her face, Christina struggles, explaining that she’s suffering a hot flush and needs some air, scarpering and leaving George wondering what the hell just happened. Will she let him in?
Thursday Sept 24th
As Debbie searches the empty Rovers looking for Carl, she’s drawn toward the cellar door, and is stricken with panic when she finds Eva, laying at the foot of the stairs unconcsious.
Heading out onto the street to look for help, she’s bumped into by a group of thoughtless lads, shaking her even further.
Rattled to the core, will Debbie remember that Eva’s in serious danger and call for help?
