
Chris Robinson, a veteran daytime television legend and one of General Hospital’s most iconic characters, passed away from heart failure at his ranch near Sedona, Arizona, on Monday, June 9, 2025. MJ Allen announced Chris’s death on Facebook on June 11. Numerous tributes poured in to honor the late actor.

Chris Robinson played the role of Rick Webber in General Hospital. Rick Webber’s first appearance dates back to 1976, but Chris Robinson did not play the character then. Rick Webber was first portrayed by Michael Gregory from 1976 to 1978. Following Gregory’s departure, the role was recast with Chris Robinson. Robinson stayed in the role from 1978 to 1986.
After 1986, Chris Robinson departed the role but returned in 2002 after a 16-year-long gap. This time, his role ended when he was murdered by Scott Baldwin. He returned for the 50th anniversary of General Hospital in 2013, marking his final appearance on the show.
