Celine Dion is reportedly preparing to take to the stage again for a series of concerts, six years after her last tour and four years after announcing she had retired due to ill health.

Dion, 57, will reportedly take to the stage for a twice-weekly performances at La Defense Arena in Paris during September and October.

French-Canadian newspaper La Presse reported the new shows over the weekend and posters have been seen in Paris, but the news is yet to be formally announced on either her official website or her Instagram account.

However, she did take to Instagram overnight to share a series of photos of herself in Paris, some dating back many years, perhaps hinting that a residency in the city of lights is imminent.

Dion was one of the most celebrated performers in the world before announcing her retirement in 2022 after being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome.

The autoimmune disorder causes the immune system to attack a person's own nervous system, interfering with the signals that typically help muscles relax.

As a result, the muscles go into a state of constant rigidity, with sudden, painful spasms that can be triggered by something as simple as a loud noise, a sudden movement, or stress.

Dion was due to restart a tour of North America in 2022 that had been postponed due to COVID when all dates were cancelled due to her suffering from severe muscle spasms.

She later announced she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome and cancelled the tour.

Since then, she has stayed largely out of the spotlight while she battled the incurable disease, only appearing on stage a handful of times, including the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.

Earlier that year, the singer shared a rare update on her condition to mark International Stiff Person Syndrome Awareness Day.

"As many of you know, in the fall of 2022, I was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS)," the star wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.

"Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible.

"I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my kids, family, team and all of you!

"I want to send my encouragement and support to all those around the world that have been affected by SPS. I want you to know you can do it! We can do it!"

The French-Canadian born Dion was discovered by music producer and talent manager René Angelil as a child after her brother sent her a recording of one of her songs.

After winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988, she and Angelil, who was 26 years her senior, became a couple and he helped guide her career.

She went on to become one of the best-selling female artists of all time, known for her power ballads, including My Heart Will Go On, from the 1997 film Titanic.

Dion and Angelil married in a lavish ceremony in 1994, five years before he was diagnosed with throat cancer.

They welcomed their first child, René-Charles, in January 2001, followed by twins Nelson and Eddy in 2010.

Angelil died in January 2016.

Dion has remained single ever since, throwing herself into her career and raising her children before she was diagnosed with the disease.

She often takes to Instagram to pay tribute to Angelil, including on the anniversaries of his death.

She marked the ninth anniversary of his death in January 2025 with a post that read, "René, we can't believe you've been gone nine years already. Not a day goes by that we don't feel your presence, RC, Eddy, Nelson and I.

"You were my greatest champion, my partner, and the one who always saw the best in me. I honour you and you are forever missed mon amour… We love you."
