The Montreal Canadiens are adjusting their lineup ahead of Game 3 against the Washington Capitals.

Patrick Laine is out for the Canadiens with an upper body injury. The team has indicated that he will be evaluated on a daily basis.

The move comes after Laine was benched for the third period of Game 2 on Wednesday night.

Winger Oliver Kapanen is in for Laine after taking warmups with the team. Defenceman Arber Xhekaj also took warmups and will play in place of Jayden Struble, who was scratched.

Both Xhekaj and Kapanen were healthy scratches for the first two games of the series.

The Capitals are up 2-0 against the Canadiens in Round 1. The first game was won 3-2 in overtime when Alex Ovechkin scored his first-ever playoff overtime goal. In Game 2, the Canadiens lost 3-1.
