Update (November 1, 2026): We have redone the calculation using the price, circulating supply and market capitalisation as of November 1, 2026. According to CoinMarketCap, XRP traded at $1.25 or €1.12 at 02:34 UTC on November 1, down from $1.32 on October 22, and remains in fifth place with $79.12 billion. The circulating supply listed by CoinMarketCap rose by around 220 million to 63.35 billion XRP over those ten days. A price of $100 would therefore mean a market capitalisation of $6.34 trillion, a little over four times Bitcoin at $1.56 trillion and almost two and a half times the entire crypto market at $2.61 trillion. Reaching $100 now requires a gain of around 7,900 percent.

Updated on October 22, 2026: This article first appeared in March 2022 and was recalculated at the time using the price, circulating supply and market capitalisation as of October 22, 2026. The US Securities and Exchange Commission's case against Ripple, the focus of the first version, has been closed since August 2025.

Can XRP reach $100? Mathematically, XRP would need a market capitalisation of around $6.34 trillion. That is a little over four times what Bitcoin is worth today and almost two and a half times the entire crypto market. On November 1, 2026, one XRP costs $1.25 or €1.12 according to CoinMarketCap; reaching $100 would take a gain of around 7,900 percent.

Our ongoing view on the price, with chart levels and scenarios, is in our XRP price prediction. This article is about the one calculation every price target depends on: price times circulating supply.

XRP price today: the numbers in November 2026

With a market capitalisation of $79.12 billion, XRP ranks fifth among the largest cryptocurrencies. The key figures for the $100 question:

MetricValue on November 1, 2026
Price$1.25 (€1.12)
Rank by market capitalisation5
Circulating supply63.35 billion XRP
Total supply99.99 billion XRP, maximum supply 100 billion
Market capitalisation$79.12 billion
Value of all XRP including non-circulating tokens$124.89 billion
All-time high$3.84 on January 4, 2018

Data providers differ on the all-time high. CoinMarketCap lists $3.84 from January 2018, while CoinGecko shows $3.65 from July 17, 2025, because the two include different trading venues in their average price. Measured against the higher figure, XRP is 67 percent below its record today. We explain what XRP is and what the network was built for in What is XRP? and in XRP Ledger explained.

Can XRP reach $100? The market capitalisation maths

Market capitalisation is the price multiplied by the number of coins in circulation. With 63.35 billion XRP in circulation, a price of $100 gives $6.34 trillion. Bitcoin is worth $1.56 trillion on the same day, and all cryptocurrencies combined $2.61 trillion.

Price targetMarket capitalisationMultiple of today's priceFor comparison
$2$127 billion1.6x8 percent of Bitcoin's current value
$3.84 (all-time high)$243 billion3.1x16 percent of Bitcoin's value
$5$317 billion4.0xslightly more than Ethereum today ($276 billion)
$10$634 billion8.0x41 percent of Bitcoin's value
$100$6.34 trillion80.1x4.1 times Bitcoin, 2.4 times the entire crypto market

This table lets you test any price forecast. Anyone calling for $100 XRP is also saying that XRP should be worth more than all cryptocurrencies combined are today. If XRP kept its 3.04 percent share of the crypto market, the entire market would have to grow by the same factor of 80.1, to around $209 trillion.

We work through a closer target in Can XRP reach $10?. Based on the circulating supply of November 1, the market capitalisation required for that is around $634 billion, a tenth of the $100 calculation.

XRP circulating supply: why $100 needs more market value every month

The calculation above is the favourable version. Of 99.99 billion XRP, 63.35 billion are in circulation, or 63.4 percent. CoinMarketCap does not count the remaining 36.63 billion. As of June 30, 2026, Ripple reported holding 37.66 billion XRP of its own, 32.6 billion of them in escrow contracts.

Since December 2017, contracts covering 1 billion XRP have matured from this escrow on the first day of every month. Whatever Ripple does not need, the company locks back into new contracts; the rest enters circulation. How much that is on a net basis is shown in our article on the escrow release on November 1.

For the $100 question, this means: counting all 99.99 billion XRP, the figure would be around $10 trillion. Every release that stays in circulation raises the market capitalisation needed for the same price. Fees work in the opposite direction, because every transaction on the XRP Ledger destroys a small amount of XRP. How small that amount is in relative terms is shown in our analysis of 398 XRP burned in a single day.

What has happened with XRP since 2022: the SEC ruling, ETFs and new features

The first version of this article was written in the shadow of the SEC lawsuit. That chapter is closed. In July 2023, Judge Analisa Torres ruled that XRP sales to retail investors via exchanges were not securities transactions. For direct sales to institutional buyers, the court imposed a $125 million penalty in August 2024. On August 7, 2025, the SEC and Ripple withdrew their appeals, leaving the ruling in place, as the SEC records in its litigation release on the case.

Since November 13, 2025, there have been exchange-traded funds in the US that hold XRP directly; the first, from Canary Capital, listed on Nasdaq. We track how much money flows into them, most recently at the end of a 13-week inflow streak.

The network itself has also grown. Since 2024, the XRP Ledger has gained liquidity pools, tokens without trustlines, credentials for verified accounts and, since October 9, 2026, batch transactions. New features enter the protocol through a vote by validators; how that works is explained in XRP Ledger explained.

What XRP would need to reach $100

For a price of $100, three things would have to come together:

A crypto market many times larger. $6.34 trillion is 2.4 times today's entire market. Even a doubling of the market would leave no room for it alongside Bitcoin. Buyers who absorb the releases. Month after month, XRP is added from escrow. A rising price needs demand that absorbs more than is released. Usage on a trillion-dollar scale. Payment providers, stablecoins such as RLUSD and tokenised assets on the XRP Ledger would have to need XRP on a scale exceeding the value of today's entire market.

XRP price prediction $100: our view

$100 per XRP is not a question of a chart pattern but of a complete reordering of the crypto market. To hit that target, XRP would have to be worth a little over four times what Bitcoin is worth today, with a circulating supply that keeps growing. Price targets of this magnitude that circulate on social media almost never show this calculation.

Closer to the maths are the levels XRP has already seen. With today's circulating supply, the all-time high of $3.84 would equal $243 billion, a little over three times today's value. Above that begins the range we examine in our article on the $10 target. If you want to buy XRP, our guide buying XRP in Germany lists EU-licensed providers and their costs.
