Joss Whedon's beloved supernatural coming-of-age series originally premiered in 1997 on The WB (now The CW) to nearly 5 million viewers. Over its seven-season run, Buffy the Vampire Slayer gathered a dedicated fan base. Featuring a tough heroine, a tongue-in-cheek supernatural premise, and an endearing central friendship, there was much to love about Buffy. Since its finale in 2003, fans have been asking for and speculating over the chance of a reboot with only some comic book spin-offs to tide them over. Now, more than twenty years later, their wishes have been granted.
