Jimmy Butler might not have suited up for the Warriors tonight, but he definitely made his presence felt. Forced to sit out due to a pelvis and deep glute muscle contusion, the forward helped his teammates the only other way he could: by mentoring them from the sidelines. During one of the timeouts, Jimmy was seen having some words with Buddy Hield, seemingly giving him some tips on his dribbling moves. But did Buddy really find the advice helpful or was Jimmy only raising tensions on the bench?
When asked about Butler’s role as a coach amid injury, Buddy said, “Terrible. Terrible advice. Terrible advice. I just was like tuning him out the whole time you know.” Don’t worry Dub Nation. The sharpshooter was just kidding. He later revealed his true feelings, highlighting Jimmy’s impact, “Nah, he’s been good. He’s been positive. He’s telling me how to read drives. Except for that one time I get picked by Steven Adams, he just gave me a look and I was like ‘Yo, don’t even talk about it.’ But he’s been good. He’s just talking and encouraging everybody.”
Moreover, Butler’s advice clearly worked for Hield, as he dropped 17 points on 5 of 11 shooting from deep range. But after he publicly roasted Jimmy, the forward had to get his revenge. And he did it my sending a sly messaged through his latest Instagram post. Following the Warriors’ dominant victory at home, Jimmy shared a picture of the Stephen Curry brand logo shining in the sky just like it does for Batman in Gotham City, captioning it, “Thanks Batman and team. excluding Buddy.”
