Deacon lies

Sheila then wants to hear about Deacon’s dinner date with Hope. Deacon reveals that it went well but that he came home early. Sheila then leaves for the restaurant, pausing near the door and making a suspicious face. Meanwhile, Taylor is unable to get the image of Sheila standing over her bed with a knife out of her mind.

Taylor opens up

When Steffy arrives at the cliff house, Taylor doesn’t hold back and reveals the truth. She tells her daughter that she was with Deacon the night before and that Sheila also came by, leaving Steffy shocked and deeply concerned. Taylor explains how Sheila frightened her and how she feared for her life. An angry Steffy scolds Taylor for bringing danger into their lives. Taylor reassures her that Sheila did not find out anything about the forbidden romance.

Hope and Liam are concerned

Hope leaves a message for Deacon before talking with Liam about his situation. The two reflect on how their father sounded scared on the call. Liam speculates whether Sheila has found out about their father’s affair. Hope urges Liam to go and check on Deacon. She believes that if their father is willing to face Sheila’s wrath for Taylor, then he is truly in love with her.

Steffy warns

Steffy is still furious over the situation, but Taylor further infuriates her by wondering if Deacon should just tell Sheila the truth about their affair. Steffy reminds her mother that if Sheila found out, she would kill her. She suggests they first check whether Sheila is not genuinely suspicious of either her or Deacon. If it appears Sheila believes the story, Steffy asks her mother to promise she will not see Deacon again. Meanwhile, Deacon calls Taylor and informs her that they do not appear to be in danger.

Sheila hits a realization

Deacon tells Taylor they will not stop seeing each other but will be smarter and more careful going forward. He reassures her that they are safe for now. However, when Sheila reaches under the bar to grab a pizza box at Il Giardino, she suddenly recalls seeing a similar box from the same restaurant sitting in Taylor’s room. The pieces begin to fall into place, and the look on Sheila’s face shifts from curiosity to a cold, hard realization.
