Bold & Beautiful’s Jack Wagner on Why He Returned as Nick Marone

The Bold and the Beautiful fans have been over the moon to hear Jack Wagner‘s return to the popular soap. The actor recently revealed that he will be stepping back into the shoes of Nick Marone from the June 16 episode of B&B. In a new interview, Wagner opened up about his decision to return to the iconic soap opera.

Jack Wagner explains why he returned to The Bold and the Beautiful as Nick Marone

In a recent exclusive interview with Soap Opera Digest, actor Jack Wagner reflected on his return to the CBS sudser as Nick Marone. Wagner shared that it was a chance encounter with The Bold and the Beautiful’s executive producer and head writer Brad Bell that fuelled his decision for a comeback.

“I ran into Brad Bell at the golf course about six months ago and said, ‘Hey man, I’m going to Italy in the summer. You want me to do any press for the show? I know I haven’t been on in a while.’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, that sounds great,’“ recalled Wagner.

As he didn’t expect to hear back from him soon, Wagner said he was surprised to get a call from Bell to chat about a new storyline. He shared how Bell “calls about six weeks later — because I have this window of time [before] I go back to When Calls the Heart, the series I’m on, on the Hallmark Channel.”

Wagner continued, “So he goes, ‘Do you think you have time to do a summer story arc on The Bold and The Beautiful? I have an idea. We can finish shooting in Naples because Nick would run Marone shipping by then.’ And I’m, like, going, ‘Okay!’”

Wagner’s Nick Marone was first introduced in March 2003 in The Bold and the Beautiful. The actor played the character till February 2012 before leaving the show. Although he did briefly return for the series’ 35th anniversary special episode in 2022, Wagner had not rejoined the cast officially. Fans will finally get to see Marone back in action in a new exciting storyline in the sudser.
