Hayes Finnegan, the son of John “Finn” Finnegan and Steffy Forrester, has recently been recast on The Bold and the Beautiful. He made his debut in 2021 and was originally played by Samantha Worden. In the current storyline, his appearances have been limited, with more focus placed on his stepsister Kelly, whose father, Liam, is battling a serious brain condition. However, Hayes has returned to the storyline, now appearing noticeably older due to the latest recasting.

Steffy’s son, Hayes, is now played by Bryan David Garlick in The Bold and the Beautiful.

From August 2023, Hayes was portrayed by the twins, Alexander and Chase Banks. Generally, soap operas opt for casting twins for child roles as kids are mostly allowed to work only a few hours a day, which could limit their scenes. However, if there are twins, more scenes can be filmed while still adhering to child labor laws and respecting an actor’s limited availability. Apart from these actors, Hayes has also been previously played by Iliana and Vienna Norris and Piper Harriot. But recently, the role was recast, and Garlick made his first appearance as Hayes on the June 12 episode.

Additionally, soap opera kids usually age faster, which results in various actors playing the same role. In soap terms, it’s called SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome), which refers to speeding up the growth of a particular character, especially a kid or teen.

For the unversed, Hayes and Luna share the same dad, which makes them siblings. It became strange for fans when Hayes was avoided in the current storyline involving Luna. However, his current reappearance seems to have put some of the fans’ doubts to rest.
