‘Bob’s Burgers’ star Eugene Mirman in hospital after serious car crash

Bob’s Burgers star Eugene Mirman has been hospitalised following a car accident in New Hampshire.

The comedy actor, who voices Gene on the animated show, was reported by Deadline to have been “pulled from his 2026 Lucid Gravity after crashing the 2026 Lucid Gravity into the Bedford Toll Plaza on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Bedford, New Hampshire, shortly before noon Tuesday (March 31), causing it to catch fire with Mirman trapped inside.” He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The outlet reports that the crash remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed. Among those who were said to have pulled the actor to safety were New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte and a veteran state trooper, who were later praised in a police statement.

“Certainly, their actions were heroic in what they did,” State Police Col. Mark B. Hall said. “Without hesitation, they put themselves in danger to render aid to someone who was in need of it.”

Ayotte would later say on X (formerly Twitter): “I want to thank the Trooper on my security detail and the bystanders who stepped up to help at the scene of the crash for their brave lifesaving efforts today. Joe and I are praying for the full recovery of the driver who was injured today.”

A representation for Mirman said in a statement to Variety: “Eugene was in a very scary car accident. He wants to thank the bystanders, state police, first responders and hospital staff who saved him. He is grateful to be on the mend. At this time, we kindly ask for privacy for Eugene and his family as he focuses on recovering from his injuries.”

Eugene Mirman is best known for his role in Bob’s Burgers as Eugene, the eccentric musical son of the title character. The series has been on air since 2011 and is currently on its 16th season. Recently, Mirman was involved in a YouTube video which saw the characters from the show cover Joy Division song ‘Transmission’.
