Winnipeg is keeping its hometown star.
The Blue Bombers have signed running back Brady Oliveira to a three-year contract extension, the team announced on Monday.
Set to become a free agent in February, Oliveira’s new contract keeps him in Winnipeg through the 2028 CFL season.
Oliveira has become one of the premier backs in the league, winning the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player in 2024. He was also the league’s Most Outstanding Canadian in 2023 and 2024. He rushed for 1,163 yards in 2025, his fourth straight season surpassing 1,000 yards.
The 28-year-old went to Oak Park high school in Winnipeg and played college football at the University of North Dakota. Oliveira was selected by Winnipeg in the second round of the 2019 CFL draft.
Oliveira and the Blue Bombers won Grey Cups in 2019 and 2021. After bringing back head coach Mike O’Shea in November and now inking Oliveira to a new deal, Winnipeg seemingly has its sights set on even more hardware.
