Well, April 26 offered Franklin Field a different kind of challenge, and it wasn’t just about speed or medals this time. The weather gods had their own wild plans! Rain came and went in flashes, drenching the track and field, leaving athletes battling not just rivals, but the elements. This was the 129th edition of the Penn Relays, a tradition born way back in 1895, running strong from April 24-26, 2025.
Around 17,000 athletes had poured into Philadelphia, chasing dreams on the oldest track and field stage in America. But through the puddles and the chaos, one 21-year-old athlete started crafting her own fearless masterpiece.
April showers didn’t hold back Oneka Wilson — and she wasn’t about to hold herself back either! The Clemson hurdler made sure she not only won the women’s 100m hurdles at the Penn Relays but also dropped her season’s best of 12.94! Just a week ago in Gainesville, she had run 13.06. Talk about perfect timing!
