New York City Mayor Eric Adams dropped out of the race for re-election with this announcement on Sunday, leaving perennial Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani on the ballot in November. Mamdani has a comfortable 19-point lead in the RCP average of polls, where Adams rarely polled above single digits.
