
Ben Stiller took to social media to respond to Pat McAfee’s “weird” comment about him, Timothée Chalamet, and others. For those who missed it, Stiller was seen courtside alongside Chalamet and Spike Lee at the Knicks–Pacers Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday, May 27.
Before the game began, Pat McAfee made a provocative comment while addressing the celebrity guests.

Ben Stiller called Pat McAfee’s comment during Tuesday’s Knicks game “weird.” Before tip-off, McAfee took the microphone and said to the crowd:
“Spike Lee is here. Ben Stiller is here. Timothée Chalamet is here. Let’s send these sons of b***hes back to New York with their ears bleeding.”
Stiller found a clip of McAfee’s cheer on X (formerly Twitter) and commented, “Yes. Weird. We were happy to be there and cheer our team, and other than that, Indy fans were awesome.”
In a follow-up post, Stiller wrote, “It’s ok. He must be playing around – if it’s an actual point of view it seems a little anachronistic or cliche? Like we are “ big city celebs” and we shouldn’t be there in the heartland? Again, everyone we met was awesome and incredibly cool.”
Fans also chimed in about the booing that Knicks fans like Stiller and Chalamet received. A netizen wrote, “They were all affectionate boos, I promise you.” Stiller joked, “I actually felt that.” Ultimately, Still reassured Indy fans that he has no bitter feelings against them. The Emmy-winning artist said, “No bitterness at all Indy fans were amazing good win for you guys.”
Meanwhile, Stiller is set to return in Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore 2. The 59-year-old actor will reprise his role as Hal L. Alongside Stiller, the cast includes Adam Sandler, Christopher McDonald, Julie Bowen, and Dennis Dugan. The sequel is set to premiere on Netflix on July 25, 2025.
Some interesting additions to the cast include Bad Bunny, Eminem, and Travis Kelce. While their roles haven’t been revealed yet, Kelce shared that he appears in several scenes. Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, the Kansas City Chiefs star called the experience “off the chain,” adding, “That was a dream come true.”
