From the complexity of synthetic life to genetic engineering that splices human and xenomorph DNA, sci-fi themes anchor the core beliefs of the Alien series – whatever humanity is, corporations are at odds with it. Alien: Earth pushes this further with hybrids. Around the obvious ethical questions, Kirsh’s (Timothy Olyphant) open encouragement of the hybrids to be more than human, and Arthur's (David Rysdahl) and Hermit’s (Alex Lawther) insistence that the kids are still kids, the show is a decidedly transhumanist exploration of what it means to play god à la Boy Kavalier (Samuel Blenkin).
