Avengers Endgame: Encore Set Photo Shows Filming Post-Credits Scene & It’s Not RDJ

Avengers Endgame: Encore has added new footage that connects the Infinity Saga finale to Avengers: Doomdsday. Among the additions is a scene involving one of the original Avengers, and a newly surfaced behind-the-scenes photo offers a closer look at the actor who filmed it.

A recent photo shared by crew members on social media shows Mark Ruffalo filming as Bruce Banner for the new sequence. Ruffalo appears inside the underground military facility featured in the mid-credits scene.

“Go check out Avengers Endgame Encore!! Such a blast to be part of this! #2ndunitdirector,” the caption read.

Many fans are speculating that the actor returned to shoot additional material for Avengers Endgame: Encore. The scene connects Banner directly to the events leading into Avengers: Doomsday.

What do we see in the Avengers Endgame: Encore post-credits scene

The new scene follows Bruce Banner after the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Banner is being held in a military facility located roughly two miles underground aafter experiencing his first Hulk incident in more than a decade. He records a video diary while discussing his efforts to develop a way to suppress his gamma radiation and prevent the Hulk from taking control again.

Everything changes when the facility’s lights begin flickering and Banner realizes that someone has entered the supposedly secure location. Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., speaks to Banner and tells him he has come to “collect” him. Banner begins transforming into the Hulk before the footage cuts away, leaving the rest of the confrontation off-screen

When the footage returns to the floor, Banner and Doom are gone, with glowing green markings left behind. The scene therefore establishes Doom’s encounter with Banner without revealing where the two characters have gone or exactly what Doom intends to do with Banner.

The Hulk sequence is one of four pieces of new material added to Avengers Endgame: Encore. The re-release also extends Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter’s final scene with an appearance by Loki, adds a TVA sequence involving multiversal incursions, and includes footage connected to Doctor Doom’s mask.
