In four seasons of Abbott Elementary, Ava (Janelle James) has gone from a selfish, uninterested principal to a caring, yet still fashionable friend. After losing her job at the school, she started to see how much she loved that job and her students. She wanted to be the one that gave them a chance. As much as she enjoys making fun of her colleagues, she realizes they would do anything for her, including risking their jobs to reinstate her. Although she still characteristically makes fun of them, she understands what she has at Abbott and isn't willing to lose it again.
