Netflix has officially announced the first four recurring cast members joining the live-action Assassin’s Creed series, based on Ubisoft‘s popular video game franchise. This comes over five years after the project was first teased through the streamer and Ubisoft’s content deal.
“The series is a high-octane thriller centered on the secret war between two shadowy factions — one set on determining mankind’s future through control and manipulation, while the other fights to preserve free will. It follows its characters across pivotal historical events as they battle to shape humanity’s destiny,” reads the official logline.
Who is joining the Assassin’s Creed Netflix show cast?
Acclaimed Swedish actress Noomi Rapace (Prometheus, Lamb), Noomi Rapace (Prometheus, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), French actor-director Ramzy Bedia (Of Money and Blood), English actor Sean Harris (Mission: Impossible, The Stranger), and Italian actor Corrado Invernizzi (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny) have been tapped to play recurring roles in Netflix’s upcoming series adaptation of Assassin’s Creed. Further details about their respective characters are still under wraps.
They will be joining previously announced series regulars Lola Petticrew, Toby Wallace, Zachary Hart, Laura Marcus, and Tanzyn Crawford. The live-action series will be executive-produced by showrunners Roberto Patino and David Wiener, alongside Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, Genevieve Jones from Ubisoft Film & Television, and Matt O’Toole. A previous rumor claimed that the story might potentially explore a period in the franchise that hasn’t been explored before, with historical figures like Emperor Nero reportedly appearing. Production is expected to take place in Italy sometime in 2026.
Since its debut in 2007, the video game franchise has sold more than 230 million units worldwide. This won’t be the first time Assassin’s Creed has received a live-action adaptation, as Sony Pictures previously adapted it for the big screen in 2016 with Michael Fassbender leading the cast.
