This past weekend, at the 98th Academy Awards, Joachim Trier's Sentimental Value hoped to take home several gold statues from a total of nine nominations. Earning a nod for the Best Picture prize and winning the prize for Best International Feature, the film found most of its nominations in the acting categories, with Renate Reinsve earning a Best Actress nomination and veteran Stellan Skarsgårda Best Supporting Actor nomination. In Best Supporting Actress, the movie earned not one but two nods, for Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas and Elle Fanning, with the latter deserving a nomination in the same category a year ago for A Complete Unknown.
