Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband and industrialist Sunjay Kapur breathed his last at the age of 53 after he reportedly suffered a heart attack while playing polo in England. The news left many shocked and shaken. Netizens and Sunjay's friends were quick to take to social media to share their reactions to his untimely demise.

For the unversed, Sunjay Kapur was married to Priya Sachdev. He was earlier in the news for his much-publicised marriage and divorce from popular actress Karisma Kapoor. They had tied the knot in 2003. Following several challenges in their marriage, they decided to officially part ways in 2014. Together, they have two children - daughter Samaira and son Kiaan.

The news of Sunjay's sudden demise was confirmed by author and actor Suhel Seth. Suhel took to X to condole Sunjay's death. "Deeply saddened at the passing of @sunjaykapur: he passed away earlier today in England: a terrible loss and deepest condolences to his family and to his colleagues @sonacomstar Om Shanti," he had posted on June 12, 2025.

Hours before his demise, Sunjay extended condolences to those who were killed in the horrific Air India plane crash, which claimed the lives of over 200 people. In the last post that had gone viral, Sunjay had mourned the loss of passengers aboard the Gatwick-bound Air India flight a Boeing 787 8 Dreamliner. The plane had crashed within minutes of taking off, and it burst into flames.

He had posted on X, formerly Twitter, "Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour. (praying hands emoji) #planecrash."
