10 years ago, Alan Ritchson was mostly known as Thad Castle from Blue Mountain State, but he’s now widely regarded as one of the biggest action stars of all time. Earlier this year, Ritchson starred in one of the most successful Netflix movies of the year, the sci-fi thriller War Machine, which did well enough to crack the all-time Netflix top 10. Ritchson has also featured in not one, but two new action movies this year with Motor City (co-starring Shailene Woodley) and Runner (co-starring Owen Wilson), and while neither film dazzled at the box office, they’ve both gone on to become hits on streaming. Despite all these new action movies, Ritchson’s rise to stardom can all be traced back to his role in Prime Video’s Reacher, which is inspired by the novels of Lee Child.
